Backpacking trip. Great campsites with sandy areas for sleeping, chairs and tables built from rocks, all under huge sandstone overhangs. Lots of wading, creek hiking, and bushwhacking necessary to get to camping areas, but we didn't have to float our packs, thanks to some sketchy traversering along the sides of the canyon in a few places. Great hike.

Heard a bunch of coyotes singing. It seemed to be coming from the direction of Boynton Canyon. Always a great hike.

Nice views, but there were a TON of tourists at the vortex, and all the development skirting the part of the loop that faces Coffee Pot Rock and town was a bit of a buzzkill. The Mormon tea was blooming, which was pretty, and the prickly pear were budding. This is a great time of year for hiking.

Nice hike, except for all the tourists at the sinkhole and the seven pools, not to mention the Jeeps and four-wheelers. But anyway . . . we took off to the right shortly after the trail entered the wilderness area and visited the arches. Very cool. If you can ignore the heavy traffic near the beginning of the trail, this is a great hike.

Just hiked up and all around Steamboat Rock. It was cool and raining, so tourists weren't venturing out onto the trails. Great views. Only ventured a short way into Wilson Canyon. We'll tackle that one another day.

Really beautiful, tranquil hike, with the noted exception of the big, noisy resort at the mouth of the canyon. It takes a while to get out of earshot of the awful place.
