| no partners | | Did this one with my brother-in-law, Ted, on Friday. Very tough, relentless hike up. I got some nasty charley horses in my thighs. Anyone have any tips on dealing with those? I ate bananas all week, stayed hydrated, massaged the legs, elevated the legs--those were my tricks. If you have anything else to share, it would be much appreciated.
.
Anyway, the weather was perfect as it was mostly overcast. There was a group called American Conservation Experience working on the trail. They told us they are a non-profit that is hired by the Forest Service to do trail maintenance. They camp up there for 8 days and work on the trails. Cool! They were doing a fantastic job!
.
My brother-in-law is a landscaper/horticulturalist on the east coast, and he was absolutely thrilled with the change and variety of plants we came upon as we hiked higher. There was still quite a bit of water, and that was very pleasant, too. We liked this hike very much. (Like a dope, I left the camera in the car. Doah!).

Just another amAZing day! |
