LEFT: Iglesia de San Lesmes Abad. Built in the Gothic style in the 14th century, it contains the remains of Adelelmus of Burgos, the patron of the city.
Its origin was in a chapel dedicated to Saint John the Evangelist erected in 1074 under the patronage of Alfonso VI, King of León, Galicia and Castile as part of a small Jacobean hospital that had an attached shelter.
