I love how so many of the beautiful buildings are lit up at nite in these old cities. This is the Santa María de Regla de León Cathedral. Consecrated under the name of the Virgin Mary, it was the first monument declared by the Royal Order of Spain on August 28, 1844.

The cathedral was built on the site of the old Romanesque cathedral, the remains of the Palace of Ordoño II and the Roman baths. Building commenced in 1205.

This Cathedral is known for its amount of Stained Glass windows. The cathedral walls have 125 window openings (huecos) filled with 737 windows (vidrieras).
