Whew, this is a workout!! I would recommend Joe's version of this as a shuttle hike, it's a tough one as an out and back. I went as far as the junction with trail #310, decided I had had enough of the desert part of the trail, and headed back up. That is a mean climb, thankfully the cloud cover was excellent for much of the return trip. Not another soul on the trail, but spotted 3 deer, and a bear cub (less than a year old, I suspect). The cub broke from cover 15 feet from the trail, unfortunately by the time I had Marley under control my photo op was long gone. Fortunately, there was no sign of mom! :scared:

Wildflowers and wild mushrooms everywhere, and a very healthy creek flow.
