I followed the Grant Creek Trail, until a blazing sunset distracted me on the 8982' hill. Continued hiking down to the brink of Grant Creek Canyon, then turned around to follow the Moonshine Creek route and the Swift Trail back in the fading light. I drove home in the moist, chilly night, with the AC and good music on high, trying to freeze myself. My headlights created ghostly refractions from pooled rainwater in the road, while a bright moon pulsated through ragged cloud cover. Another satisfying and memorable after work hike!
