Hit the trail a little before 5:30 to beat the heat. Breaking in a new pair of boots. There sure is a lot of Saguaro on the first section of this hike. I like seeing there profiles in the morning light. I made it around back to see the sunrise.Sweet. Some great views! Starting seeing a few people after that. A couple joggers and maybe a dozen hikers. Stopped to talk to a Desert Cottontail for a couple minutes. He asked me if I knew rally_toad. I guess they had a run-in back in Feb,2009. He said to tell him no hard feelings. He also showed me what he eats for breakfast. I always wondered what ate those little red things on some bushes.

All and all a nice hike and the temps weren't to bad.
