| no partners | | I had the afternoon/evening free so I decided to do some exploring of my own. I started at the Peralta TH at about 2:30p. I wanted to finished the Coffee Flat trail since I've never gone through Fraser Canyon and was hoping to make it to the turn around by dark. I was close but needed to stop and add a layer for warmth and get out my headlamp a mile before the halfway point. Bob's comment was right. It was easier to stay in the wash than brave the actual trail. I missed a few turns in the dark and took a look for a none existing spring which added a mile and 300 feet before I cleaned up the posted GPS track. I must have kicked up over a hundred quail along the way as they were flying everywhere. There is water in Fraser Canyon and it was moving in a few spots too. There were probably 12 vehicles at the Peralta TH when I got back about 10:50p.  |
