Went out to Massacre Falls in the early afternoon. This my first trip to the falls. Route finding was an ongoing challenge. It helped carrying gps with me. There were several spur trails along the way and the gps kept me heading in the right direction. There was a slow trickle of water coming over the falls. I would love to see it right after a rain storm. This hike proved to be a good workout with the distance and the AEG. I took a break at the falls and ate some lunch. The return trip was a lot quicker and I found myself back at the car at the Crosscut Trail in no time. I would recommend this hike for someone on the east side of Phx that is looking for a nice challenge with a reward at the end of the trail.
