| | | Most of the others have filed quite detailed trip reports.
My biggest takeaways from this Hike were: 1) Got to meet some new HAZers! Alex, Kate, Steve, Preston, Ron, & non-HAZer Roger
2) Got to hike with some HAZers for the 2nd time Chris, Dave, Kyle.
3) Rock Creek Trail is disappearing in spots
4) The highlight of my hike, was the 50' waterfall 3 miles up on the Rock Creek Trail (Or so I thought)
5) Holy Pumpkin Batman! The twin 150' waterfalls at Deadman Creek/Sandy Saddle wash, was the REAL Highlight! #1 lunch spot EVER for me on a hike. Looking forward to seeing it again sometime. After seeing that, it was first time on a hike I didn't pay any attention to the puny 10' footers.
6) And on the Barnhardt Trail, the Big Kahuna, another large Water fall.
7) For a large portion of the Barnhardt trail, all you could hear was the sound of waterfalls and running water. If you don't like that sorta stuff.... stay home. |
