| partners | | Ahhh, some friends and I got to get out and do another section of the Arizona Trail! We hit the trail about 8:00am with great weather. The first section is through Pine,Aspen,Ferns,Boulders, elevation gain and some nice views.I really like this section. We had the pleasure of running into Tugger and Amy on this section. It's always nice to chat with other HAZers.Once we passed the Humphrey's parking lot the people thinned out to a handful. The Pine,Aspen and Ferns lasted longer than I expected as did the shade .The trail was in pretty good shape although dusty. With a little sweat the dirt just seemed to stick to us.We had cached water at the 15mile mark so we grabbed it and ate lunch about the half way mark.It was a little warm but by the time we got out of the Pine and Aspen and into the Juniper it was started to cool off.We got to see a few Horned Lizards,an Elk,A herd of Deer and a Herd of Antelope. It' always awesome to be out where the Deer and Antelope play .The last mile always seems long as we anticipate the end.I enjoyed this one and Joe,Nick,Dave and Bruce made it all the more enjoyable. We left the Valley at 4:00am and got back a little before midnight.A long day but enjoyable. Thanks gentlemen! |
