| no partners | | My first ever solo hike. I started with the Marshall Gulch trail from the Marshall Gulch parking lot. The spring has very little water but I did see a lot of wildflowers and butterflies. I got to the Marshall Gulch saddle and went on to the Wilderness of Rocks but it was too hard for me so I turned around about 300 ft or so. I then went on the Aspen #93 trail to go back to the parking lot. The Aspen trail is a bit harder than Marshall Gulch and a lot less transited, at some point I thought I had taken a wrong turn and was following a false trail because of all the overgrowth and fallen trees along the way.
It wasn't bad for my first time hiking by myself. I see that people say it should take 2 hours to do the whole loop. Well, I was not in a hurry and just taking all the beauty of the place inside takes time |
