On sunday we hiked westward to Horse camp to the spot where we stopped on our July hike. afterwards we hiked up Parsons canyon for some boulder scrambling and an encounter with a Arizona Black Rattler (our friend Keith can move faster than I thought) all told we accumulated somewhere between 20 and 25 miles for the weekend. a good workout but pretty easy considering most of it was flat and with daypacks. One of our hilights was spotting 8 Desert big horns in the Deer creek area, yearlings, ewes and Rams. we also spotted a sheep skeleton near horse camp that didnt seem to be a kill, it looked young and was located at the bottom of a pretty good drop off so it might have been a fatal slip from above. I also finally took some time to do some night photography and was very pleased with a few of the photos. we got rained on some sat and sun nights which contributed to some of the night photos. We saw some deer also and many critter tracks including bear, mountain lion, deer,raccoon/skunk/ringtail/coatis. good time was had by all and we're already talking about going back again. We would very much like to go all the way up Deer creek and Parsons creek |
