| no partners | | 5024 has been in my sights for a few weeks and today was the day
haven't been up siphon draw to flatiron in over ten years
i had forgotten how challenging the scramble up the steep part is
the terrain is so interesting
at the intersection, first went to flatiron and looked around and over the edge a bit
then backtracked to look at the crash site
couldn't bring myself to take a picture of that
wandered around and found where ridgeline continues
had to pull out the gps to look for the route up 5024
used sendo's track, and would have found it difficult to find my way up without it
great views from there and the summit area could use more exploration next time
didn't find the hidden log or a benchmark but didn't spend too much time looking
headed back down, with a little rumpaging at times
multi-purpose day: getting this particular peak, recon and training for the ridgeline
this seemed more interesting than doing an over and back camelback
saw two big groups of older (than me) adults on the way, along with several other people
no one on 5024
cool temps, a little overcast
enjoyed this one, and won't wait another ten years to do it again
the only track i have to contribute will be flatiron from mckellips trailhead
the rest is a mess, and the aeg is way off when synced |
