| partners | | john and i both wanted a longer hike in the superstitions and john came up with this loop
started out about 7:30 and it was a little brisk until the climb up cardiac hill
took bluff spring to dutchman to charlebois spring, then back on dutchman to red tank, then whiskey springs and finishing on dutchman
along the way we took the time to do quite a bit of exploration
checked out bluff spring, which was dry
took a detour to see the cactus with 57 arms
took a look at the master map
had some pizza at charlebois spring
went up peters trail for a few hundred yards
stopped at la barge spring
somehow missed music canyon, but spent quite a while going up trap canyon
hiked up to miner's needle, and tried to find a way to the eye
did i miss anything, john?
i hadn't seen any of these places before and i couldn't believe how lush and green the areas of flowing water were in the middle of the superstitions
red tank and whiskey spring trails were new to me, as was much of dutchman
it was fun to do some scrambling and bushwhacking
many stops need further exploration
enjoyed the views from miner's peak
had great weather all day
