| partners | | After yesterday's hike,JJ helped us gather some firewood,get the other car and find a new camp spot.We started setting up camp and JJ headed over to Jacob's Lake to suffer through a hot dinner,hot shower,and warm bed.All together now,Ahhhhh .We set up our tents and bags and got a fire going.Joe was nice enough to cook the first round for us hugry slackpackers.I don't like blood so Joe cooked them WELL done.MmmMmm.Thanks Joe.Buce cooked the second round and with the flames lower they came out a little more evenly cooked.I didn't cook and agreed the least I could do is start the morning fire.It didn't feel as cold the second night.We drove down to the trailhead meeting place and JJ showed up right on time.The first half of this passage is almost all in a burn area.That didn't stop the Deer.I hear they like the taste of new growth and we saw quite a few.The second half was back in the trees.It was flatter then 40 and a pleasant hike through the pines.From there it was back to get the other car and move it to another trailhead for JJ to hike to next Friday.We would give him a ride home.On the way out we saw Fireweed and she seemed to be on schedule.Good luck to her!We stopped in Flag to grab a bite and headed home.We got Joe and JJ dropped off and I was home a lttle after 10,I think.Thanks slackpackers,I had a great time.A special thanks to Bruce for all that driving.You all rock!  |
