HAZ - Event
Rolled into the trailhead area around dusk. Didn't anyone camped until I got to the end of 142E. 142E was marked very well on this trip. There 3 other groups camped by the trailhead but were pretty quiet during the night. I parked about 200 yards before the trailhead in a nice little spot.

The stars disappeared by 5AM so I ate and hit the trail by 7. It was a short but always steep hike in but it's over before you know it and you're rewarded with a lush flowing creek. I wore the Merrell water shoes down the trail so I crossed in the water and headed upstream. The usual pair of logs tied together bridge by this first big log jam was down to just 1 log. I moved slowly stopping to fish a few times and then arrived at my campsite by noon. Only saw one group of 4 people all day.

I camped at the same spot 4 weeks ago when I hiked down from the Maxwell trail. I would guess this spot to about halfway between the Point and the Maxwell. A quick setup and off to fish more and catch some crawdads if I'm lucky. I was. I caught and ate about 3 dozen or so that night. This crawdad net wors really well. It was a quiet night and I awoke to sprinkles the next morning.

Big breakfast to start the day and some more fishing. Hiked back downstream to the Point trail. From there, the hike was exactly what I expected... uphill... Overall I was really surprised this trip and last, at how well defined the actual trail is along the creek. You will get your feet wet, but the trail is really easy to follow with minimal bushwacking for distances longer than 20 feet.
