It's always fun hiking with Erika. This one was noteworthy since she likes to collect mushrooms and on the way up to Josephine Saddle she found some keepers. Rather than lug them all the way up to the peak and back, she stashed them in a hollowed out stump along the trail for later retrieval. Much to her dismay, back at the stump she found her mushrooms gone and a note thanking her for her efforts.

To this day, everytime I pass by the stump (now uprooted and lying on its side returning to the earth), I smile and remember that moment! I have referred to it affectionately over the years as "Erika's mushroom stump." :lol:
