| no partners | | Boy is it great to be back in Arizona!!!!!!! 
After two hard cranking days of driving from Minnesota, I'm finally back to the warm country and the Superstitions. It has taken a couple of days to recover and get the house back in living shape (Internet, Satellite TV, Mail, etc.) Now I have to spend a while building up my legs and endurance, so I tackled the close-by Silly Mtn for some early morning break-in exercise 
It feels so good to get back into the hiking boots, grab the hiking stix, GPS and the straw hat and hit the familiar trails. Overall, I feel pretty good for the first time out so it shouldn't take too long to get into shape (relatively speaking for an old fart). Just a couple more shots at the Silly Mtn course then do the Freemont Saddle and see what happens next.
A few more people in the park are showing an interest in getting out hiking so I'm hoping to get out more frequently and looking for some familiar faces as I work the trails of the Superstitions. I'm still holding out hope that my brother will be able to make the journey from his home in Wisconsin to spend some time in the Arizona that he loves so much too. |
