We cruised down and then connected to the Battleship Route that traverses the Supai where we followed the low route and headed to the saddle. From there we made our way towards the break and then made the climb to the summit. We had a look around and then made a quick down climb off the ship. This is my second trip to the summit and the Crux obstacle was significantly easier.
Once down below, JJ3 wanted to hike out to the north end of the ship so he could get a good view of Isis Temple. We walked out to the north end and had a look around. Views are amazing in all directions. After that we started our return to BA. Once back on BA we headed back up the trail. Along the way a ranger stopped all three of us and asked why we were trailblazing. I explained we just hiked the Battleship and we followed the low route back to BA. He was really cool about things and after a brief conversation we made the final push back to the rim.
The GPS Route has a lot of small spikes. I am estimating the AEG on this |
