Quick after work trip up the mountain for a hike on the RTN. Ran into a friend who was hiking down at the Jacobson overlook and spent way too much time chatting to complete the entire road as planned before dark. The entire Gila Valley this evening was covered in a haze of thick smoke from what I've been told was a prescribed burn on the San Carlos Rez that got a little out of control, so the normally great overlook views were missing. I then idled back down the Swift Trail in full gummo mode looking for snakes which I almost always see on this Hwy after dark, tonight I found 2 on the road. First one was a medium size Gopher snake and the second was my first ever Sonoran Lyresnake!
