| no partners | | We did this as a two-night backpack, in order to enjoy camping by the West Fork of LCR. On our hike to the peak on Saturday we ran into Joe, coanbru, Tortoisehiker and Wallyfarak! What a surprise. Saw no wildlife except those guys and a coyote, plus various tweety birds, squirrels and chipmunks.
Chilly nights, and of course, no fires allowed. There was a small forest fire on the Whiteriver side of the mountain, but it looked a lot smaller on Saturday than it did on
Friday, and this morning when driving out I couldn't see the smoke from it at all any more.
I had planned to hike the loop, but the others were going back down the same way so I went, too. Added miles because I forgot my camera and had to walk back to my car, and also couldn't at first find where the others had camped--I hiked in a few hours after they did. |
