After the rain let up on Saturday afternoon I hopped in the car and headed out to Wupatki. I thought the stormclouds might make for good photos and a good sunset. I did the Lomaki trail and a couple others, then headed for Sunset Crater. I stopped to hike the Doney Trail to get my heartrate up and saw a wildflower that was new to me (need to research it--seems to be some type of clover). As I was leaving Sunset crater the sunset popped at the peaks. I rushed to set up the tripod and was in awe as the colors developed. It was magical--completely reminded me of how amAZing it is to live in Flagstaff.
