The wet winter had put more grass on the cinder slopes and flats than I would have liked but it was still fun walking as usual. There was pottery everywhere and many ruins - I conservatively counted nine based on collapsed rock walls and pottery concentration. The specific styles (pottery and ruins both) were similar to what I've run across on many previous visits but there were some highlights today: biggest ruin, an excavated ruin with nice walls and corners, and what has to be a collapsed kiva.
At ~6000' not as cool as Flagstaff but nice to get out of the Valley and outside. |
