This is mainly flat cinder country and it's a little like walking on a sandy beach. The black background makes it easy to see old broken pottery pieces on the surface but the fine material drifts in the wind and can partially bury the ruins. I found that when the pottery was concentrated I could find ruin walls, and when ruin walls were more prominent I could find pottery. The pottery types and what I could see of the ruins "architecture" was similar to what I've seen in my several other trips to this area. Always fun walking around up there since there is plenty to see. |
