The Subaru outback we were in was a little slow moving at times but made it without any problems. The start to this hike is as rough as the road that took to get there right from the start and then it gets steeper. The first 1.5 miles are straight uphill until it levels off at about eye level to the ruins on the opposite side of the canyon. The walk from there hugging the canyon is amazing! We reached the first set of ruins as the sun started to set, once we reached the third set it was very dark. We made the entire hike back in complete darkness until the full moon rose in front of us, it was spectacular! Once we made made it back all i had in my head was this rice and grilled Spam mix i had made.....it was tastier than it sounds...recommend! Saw a few shooting stars, great to relax and reflect on the days adventures! |
