| partners | | Out and back starting from Picketpost TH on AZT #17 Alamo trail with a peek around the corner to see some of the AZT #16 Gila River trail. It tried to rain and even sprinkled a bit but nothing got going. This trail is immaculate as are some sections of Arizona Trail. Really makes a difference on speed so on the way back we took some time to walk a section of the Picketpost Circumference trail over to Telegraph Canyon Road and make that connection.
The views of Picketpost were great as we walked past the towering walls and then the trail makes it's way south away from the mountain. Managed to make the start of AZT #17 by lunch time and took a relaxing break there before heading back. Most of the elevation is heading south so a little quicker pace on the way back. Not may people out just a few mountain bikers, some quads and couple a hikers near the TH. Nice to knock out one of the easier sections of Arizona Trail  |
