My first taste of the Arizona Trail. Started at Picketpost TH and walked S with MJ for 3.17 mi, where we stopped for lunch. Had hoped to reach Picket Mill Well, but later figured it was another half-mile S and off trail. Headed back with a dying sun lighting up the Superstitions to the NE. Beautiful, as was the magnificent W face of Picketpost Mtn. Lot more prickly pear, cane cholla and jojoba than I'm used to seeing. And quiet. Encountered only a biker and four hikers incl a couple from Minnesota.

Wildflowers Observation Isolated
Mostly yellows, small, but also globemallow in a deep ravine and a fairyduster along the trail not far from TH.
