| no partners | | Soon after setting out, I happened upon a freshly cut palo verde, behind the housing area, trimmed so as to remove branches from the trail. In 5+ years walking this area, I have *never* seen trimmed vegetation on park land. Fifty yards further on, I found a second, similar, palo verde.
The brittlebush were at maximum bloom, with the creosote not far behind, so I was teary eyed and quite boogery.
I found at least two dozen more powder markings on various trail segments. One is obnoxious enough, but five in 200 yards on a segment .75 miles long where it is literally impossible to make a wrong turn? Or another segment with 14 in a quarter mile where it is also literally impossible to make a wrong turn? (Not to mention nine more I found between Hill 1833 and the resort corral, on a segment I skipped last time I was through there.) What's the matter, no ancient rocks to tip over or heiroglyphs to desecrate!?
-----
On way down to Casa Grande for lunch, brittlebush all along I-10 in amazing bloom. It's a sea of yellow (and traffic) right now. |

Wildflowers Observation Moderate Brittlebush at full bloom. Creosote also. Otherwise, nada. |
