| partners | | Kelly and I both wanted to hike something outside of South Mountain today. She suggested Picketpost along with the circumference trail, and it was a go. I have been wanting to get on the backside of Picketpost in the Arnett Creek area for a couple years.
The hike up Picketpost is always challenging and fun. A little windy up top. Saw five other hikers ascending as we were almost finished descending.
We had a snack back at Kelly's truck then headed out on the Circumference of Picketpost in a clockwise manner. Most of Arnett Creek had running water in it which was really nice to see and listen to. We hiked off trail and found a bunch of Apache tears in an old mining road.
We looped around Picketpost then checked out a couple mines not too far from the trailhead. Kelly bravely went in about six feet lol.
