| partners | | Fourth annual New Years Eve hike with Denny. Joey joined us also.
I have a bunch of the "Popular" hikes I need to do, and I was finally able to knock the Picketpost Summit off the list. The circumference around Picketpost was an added bonus.
From the TH, it's hard to believe this can actually be climbed. Following two experienced Picketpostians, this should be a piece of cake. Well we made it up using the wrong "Right" route. Left is the preferred route going up, as the route we took would be slick going down.

On the way down ran into a couple of HAZ lurkers, Louie and Dan that were excited to meet "The Hike Arizona Boys". Joe Bartels, Tortisehiker, and...can't remember your screen name. So for 2014, I've officially become The Eagle
The rest of this hike, once down, went CCW around Picketpost, through Telegraph Canyon and Arnett Creek. This is a real sweet area that I'm surprised does not get more traffic. The trip around is about 9.25 miles with minimal elevation gain. The riparian areas blew me away.
