Traveled up and back in late afternoon with MJ, this being her first trip on Geronimo. Disappointed in coming across the upper valley to see so few wildflowers. Almost nothing. Near car-crowded Buena Vista Pt we did run into some beautiful magenta-flowering hedgehog, the first I'd seen this season. Coming back down, we hit darkness at the lower saddle and eased down the rocky trail to the Boy Scout fence with one hand-held flashlight between us. Need to get a headlamp. As usual, saw few on the trail, only a couple, man and woman. Many nice views of Phoenix and adjacent mountains.
