Rode to work, rode almost home, suggested a trip to the rim for sunset.

Speeding down the hill from Maswik to Hermit Rest Transfer, my riding partner thought we were continuing the turn uphill but I had thought to cross the street onto the sidewalk.

We rode in formation but with my hoodie on I didn't know he was so close...I turned, he slammed into my frame, I fell to the right, bailed off my bike, tucked and rolled in midair completed a somersault and jumped to my feet...it was like something out of an action movie!!!

... attempted to roll my bike out of the road...that's when I noticed the chain was off...the back tire was bent like a Pringles chip....and my right knee was swelling up to the size of an orange.

I learned a lesson somewhere in there. No tears were shed, but we did abandon the bikes, locked up at the transfer then somehow I gimped my way to BA bar where the entire bike shop crew met up to check on me and buy me margaritas.

My beloved trek is wrecked...but the crew is going to help me rebuild her!! Until then I think I'll walk.
