I remembered when we were on the mesa north of Silver Cr. seeing an old road enter the canyon and after a couple of miles climb out to the mesa where Plato Pueblo is. So lets check it out. We had planned to hike an area that was quite open so we had shorts on and that was not the right attire for here. The grass got pretty deep, well above the knees, so lesson learned, dress appropriately doh. Eventually like most canyons it got pretty choked, so we never made it far enough to where the old road climbed out. We lunched by a pool and to our surprise there was trout in it...holly snickers! Where's my Popeil Pocket Fisherman?
As we headed back Tus jumped into the deep grass and came out with something in her mouth.
Dear Lord no telling what part of an eviscerated rodent she found. Two miles up this canyon with no signs of anyone camping she finds bacon! And you all thought your dog was cool.. |
