| no partners | | Back to a good old standby. Explored some new red sandstone outcroppings in the valley. It had rained earlier in the day, so there was a lot of fresh evidence of bighorns coming to a couple of temporary pools for a drink. The discovery of a bighorn skeleton and desert tortoise carapace near a spot that felt like a perfect mountain lion hide-out was good enough for me to decide that was my turn around spot/time. 
The hike back was better than usual, spotting 5 bighorns and one live desert tortoise  . No doubt, the tortoise came out for a drink and found the weather pleasant enough to stay out for the day.
With nothing particular in mind, this proved a nice chance to just enjoy being outside in the sprinkles. |
