| no partners | | Great hike in the Trinity Alps. This hike is very popular with good reason. I think I saw at least 100 people over my 14+ miles, and many of them were lugging what looked to be rental gear uphill at a slow pace late in the afternoon. I got to the final crossing of Canyon Creek about 3/4 mile below the lower lake, and decided to turn back. I was 90 minutes past my turnaround time, and the raging creek made crossing a dicey proposition.
That sucked, but the dash back to the trailhead was pretty fun. The sky gods ruined most of the photo opportunities, but also kept it a little cooler. |
