It was what I used to call a "Partial Elden."

Boy it was hot! I have never experienced Flagstaff at that level of heat. It's very dry. I was sort of shocked that many of the cliffrose bushes appeared to be dead or dying.

I had a very important phone call while hiking. I found a very nice shady spot with a great view to take the call.

My feet did not hurt going back down, which was when I thought they would hurt. We are making progress, my feet and I.
