The weather was so nice this morning, even with the clouds, that I couldn't leave town without hiking Elden once more. For some reason, I had more energy on Humphrey than either time on Elden. It was hot on this, so that could be why. I felt great at 12,600', but for some reason I was tired both times at 8500'. Maybe it was the expectation of how I really felt vs. how I thought I would feel?

Aspen color is starting a little more, and it may be at peak by next weekend if this week is dry and cool at night, but it may be closer to the middle of next week for peak color, too. I am still very impressed with the lush grass and plants on Elden this year. There are wet years(summers), and there are dry years, and this is definitely a wet one, and after a previous wet one, so everything looks great.
