It seems awfully cold here to this Zonie, so I have not wanted to get out and hike very much while visiting here. I'll have to return in summer! We did take a short walk at our turn-around point. The views of the East Fork, framed by the Boulder-White Cloud range, and the pretty ranches along the way were very fun to see.
We looked and looked to see a moose in the marshy bottomlands along the river, but it is rare for a passerby to see one. We saw a lot of mule deer, a lot of whitetail deer, a lot of elk (in the distance) and a lot of moo-cows. But it was a mooseless day.
They have magpies here in Idaho! I've seen a lot of them. We don't have them in Arizona. They sure are pretty, although they are considered to be a pest. My brother says they kill the young of the songbirds.
We stopped frequently to let the big dog out and to take photos. |
