This was a pretty nice hike with three guys from a local club. Lots of wildflowers. I don't remember all the names of the flowers. We bailed off the saddle when the big clouds began to cover the sun and hover overhead. One of the guys remarked that he knows someone who was struck by lightning at the saddle, and was never the same afterward. He joked that this person afterward had become a Republican. This was directed (all in good humor of course) at the one Republican in the group...

Podiatric report: My feet did hurt coming down. The usual burning feeling. One of the other hikers urged me to go to Runner's High, a Flagstaff store that sells running shoes and trail shoes. He said the owner is very knowledgeable. So, maybe I will.
