Topock Marsh is a human created wetlands on the Arizona side of the Colorado River, just upstream from where I-40 crosses the river into California. It's part of the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge. Several launch points are available.

This was my first foray into the marsh by boat. It's said to be a birder's paradise. I thought it was a bit boring, but I will probably go there occasionally since it is near to where I'm living and I won't need a shuttle driver, as I usually do for river runs.

I did see a lot of birds. The best ones I saw were the White Pelicans. They are huge and very spectacular in flight. I saw the usual herons, grebes, cormorants, ducks and of course, the ubiquitous coots. Since I am posting this several weeks after the fact, I can't remember what else I saw.
