Went for a stroll in our backyard desert after a cloud burst had cleared the air and the clouds had scattered enough to let the sun light through. Saw a red tail hawk tearing apart its kill up in a tree. It hung around long enough for me to get some photos but had a tough time holding the camera still enough to get a decent picture at 60x zoom. Several coyotes were lurking about looking for a fresh meal - maybe the heavy rain burst brought the rodents out of their burrows. A herd of Segways came cruising through the desert - a tour group from the nearby Desert Ridge Marriott Hotel. Gilded Flickers were keeping an eye on things from the tops of the Saguaros. Got buzzed by a drone - must be part of our condo complex's new security system. It's always an adventure to take a stroll in our backyard desert.
