First time hiking in from the east, kinda prefer this side to the west. It appeared the canyon had significant rain and wind the previous week, which knocked down a substantial amount of leaves. It was still a decent show.

I bumped into a large javelina family within 10 minutes of hitting the trail and the only other wildlife spotted was a curious raccoon that walked to within 20 feet while I was taking night photos. I set up camp at the Deer Creek confluence and then ventured downstream to explore a few side canyons. Hiked a short ways past Booger Canyon and then returned to camp just before dark. At first light I went up Hell Hole canyon through the end of the narrows and was blown away with the fall colors and light bouncing around between the walls. Great fun!
