We decided to squeeze in an afternoon trip to See Spring after spending the majority of the day swimming at Christopher Creek gorge. Starting from the See Canyon TH, we encountered only one small group of people enjoying the creek near the parking lot, having the trail all to ourselves after that. The spring grasses and a few wildflowers were sprouting but otherwise the leaves had yet to return to the trees (besides the pines and junipers). It was nearly 70 degrees on this beautiful early spring day and the water was cold! The short hike to the spring was just enough to get warmed up before we stopped at a familiar water hole and submerged ourselves for as long as we could tolerate. Leaving ourselves enough time to dry off, fill up a canteen & eat a quick snack, we hiked back towards the vehicle under the setting sun. The solitude and cleanliness of the trail and surrounding tributaries on this day was much appreciated.
