It crosses Hwy 87 and heads up a hill about 2 miles to the tank and meadow. First things first Cup needed to cool off in the tank which is more of a pond. She scared away a blue heron that was in the pond when we arrived. After Cup's quick dip we headed across Bradshaw Meadow and discovered a second tank which was dry. Then headed back to the pond and had lunch while Cup took another dip. The blue heron decided Cup was not a threat and was back eating a small fish out of the pond for it's lunch while we looked on.
After lunch we made our way back towards the trailhead but took a detour to make a short loop out of the AZT and Pine Canyon Trail back to the vehicle. We expected some rain with the daunting forecast thunderstorms and heavy rain possible but only had a few sprinkles |
