14er number 2, woohoo! :y:

This one was considerably easier than Mt Elbert, my first 14er, but it was still a formidable challenge. The grades reminded me a lot of Humphrey's Summit Trail, very gradual (nearly flat) at the bottom, building up to steeper grades towards the peak.

Very cold and windy at the summit. There was frost on everything above treeline, and the aspens in the area are beginning to turn yellow. Fall is right around the corner in the high country.

Coming from the Phoenix area instead of straight off the CT, altitude played a much bigger role on this one. A little bit of nausea on the way up, and a killer headed ache after we got down.
