| no partners | | Made an impromptu visit to Flagstaff primarily because I was craving Indian food. After over indulging a bit, I felt a trip up Humphreys was in order, but didn't have enough time to start from Inner Basin. Luckily I brought a day pack and a pair of trail runners. Today's weather was perfect, 75° at the TH. Exactly 1:30 to saddle and another 45mins to summit. In only shorts and a damp t-shirt, it was downright chilly in the winds at the summit, as I had anticipated. Didn't spend much time up there before heading back down. Stopped to rub some tiger balm on my knee and left it behind so I backtracked a little to retrieve it. Only encountered 8-10 other hikers and had both saddle and summit to myself. Made it back to the TH in time to watch a few deer graze under an amazing sunset. |
