Needed something easy and short and this was it. Trees are nice but the full effect of the Cottonwoods is not yet. Road after the gate is interesting in a few spots, due to run off from flooding. An old car used to shore up some of the side of the road has been revealed on the switchbacks; I did not take a picture. Some scree flow and dead wood in the first part walking downcanyon but minimal change. Less water meant could go farther in the narrows more easily. Saw a rattlesnake, I've seen more in the last few weeks than all summer. Very pretty and enjoyable.
