First Water Trailhead to Canyon Lake Marina

Sunday was a beautiful Arizona day with temps hovering around the low 70's and lots of sun,

so what better way to spend the day than go on a Superstitions hike with some friends (9 of em to be exact). Our hike started at the busy First Water Trailhead a little after 9:00 heading for the Second Water Trail through Garden Valley and down the long rocky trail to Boulder Creek where we took a short break while listening the the water rushing over the rocks just below us. :DANCE:

From there it was past the Indian Paint Mine, cross LaBarge Creek and then up the dreaded steep, switchback hill for some awesome views of the Superstition Mountains behind us. Soon the scenic Canyon Lake came into view and the trail began dropping in elevation until we arrived at the Marina where we had pre-staged our return vehicles..... but first, lunch was in order and some cold refreshing drinks

on the outdoor balcony above the shores of Canyon Lake as we celebrated the completion of the 8 mile, 5 hour hike.

It was a great day to share with some great friends, thanks everyone, lets do it again before the heat of the summer curtails the hiking. :y:

Wildflowers Observation Isolated
Some small patches of wildflowers are appearing following the rains.

	Nice flow and the sounds of water over the rocks.

	First Water Creek at Second Water Trail #236	Dry	Dry
	The crossing's dry but we saw a couple of pools just upstream.

	It's good to see the flow but got the feet wet on this one.

	The trail crossing was wet and muddy.

	Just a nice little flow.

On every trip into the Superstitions, I find another Gold Mine. Today the mine was filled with Memories. I can not wait for the next trip.
