I knew that this was going to be a busy day at the TH so I got there around 7:30 ish, there were several vehicles in the lot already but I had the trail mostly to myself. At the Saddle. I met a guy and two girls who were going on to Robbers Roost then down Carney to complete the loop. I was going on out to Pinon Point and they decided to join me for the scenery.
The day quickly warmed and before long I was shedding the layers that were initially necessary. There was a bit of an Easterly breeze up along the top, but still comfortable. On the way back, the group broke off at the Saddle and headed on to the Roost, while I headed back down the trail. I could not believe the number of hikers that I ran into heading up trail.... It was like follow-the-leader as I kept meeting groups and singles the entire way back.
Beautiful day, great weather, wonderful start to the new year. Happy New Year HAZ'ers, hope to see ya on the trails.

On every trip into the Superstitions, I find another Gold Mine. Today the mine was filled with Memories. I can not wait for the next trip. |
